Based in the PNW, our purpose is to help survivors of domestic abuse reclaim their confidence.
“Golden hour” is a term cherished by photographers, known for its warm, magical light and the beauty it brings to everything it touches. We believe that same radiance exists within each of us—that we all carry our own “golden hour” inside.
The mission of The Golden Hour Project is to empower survivors of domestic abuse through free, professional photography, helping them reclaim confidence, self-worth, and return to their own golden hour.
We believe every survivor has been created intentionally, beautifully, and with immeasurable worth. Each person carries a light within them—a golden-hour radiance shaped by resilience and renewed through grace—that no experience of harm can erase.
Our photography sessions are designed to help survivors rediscover and reflect that inner light, seeing themselves not through the lens of what they have endured, but through the unwavering, unconditional love with which God sees and values them. To see themselves as good, worthy, and beautiful—beyond the false narratives that abuse can leave behind.
We hope these sessions allow each individual to view themselves in an empowering and affirming way. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment, free of pressure and judgment, where survivors can show up exactly as they are. Here, they are invited to reclaim their confidence, honor their resilience, and embrace their God-given dignity. Through the transformative power of photography, we strive to help survivors do more than survive—we want to help them thrive.
Beyond individual sessions, we are committed to raising awareness about domestic violence by amplifying survivors’ voices and advocating for meaningful change within our community. Together, we seek to reflect compassion, shine light into places of darkness, and illuminate a path toward a brighter and more loving future for all.
